Macedonia

Macedonia

Macedonia is a small country the size of Vermont with a population of approximately 2 million people.  The capital city, Skopje has only half a million people.  Economically they are struggling with unemployment at 38% and a per capita income of $1,100.  There has been a struggle between the Macedonians and the ethnic Albanian minority.  The Orthodox Church has strong influence among the Macedonians but the Albanians are primarily Muslim.  Evangelicals (including Pentecostal/Charismatics) constitute .3% of the population.  This is a great mission field.

In the fall of 2005 God graciously opened the door for us to help open one of the first Bible training programs in the nation. Starting with a group of 15 students, who were so hungry to study and learn, that they gathered their own resources to buy the necessary equipment to start. One of their greatest desires and ours is for Christian literature and study materials in their own language.

Pray for God’s harvest in this country and pray for the success of our first Bible College there.  Pray for God to open more doors of opportunity.  Pray that God will provide resources for the translation and printing of more Christian materials. Pray for our missionary Meloni Adams who oversees the work there.
